The 1998 All-Star Game was coming to Denver and Bobby was asked by MLB Colorado Rockies promotion
department to come up with a tune for the Jackie Robinson 50th anniversary celebration. This instrumental song was first performed
for Rachel Robinson (Jackie's wife) and reflects Jackie's impact "on everyone", not just African Americans.
Bobby
went a step further and ended up producing a baseball CD that made it fun for everyone. You pop it on before a game and it
gets the family all worked up! Pure fun.
He worked up a couple of foot stomping songs titled "Baseball Stomp" and
"Born To Go The Distance." The music was jumpin so much guitarist Jock Bartley of FIREFALL, known for his grammy nominated
song "Green Eyed Lady", jumped in and played that guitar like he was running for home plate! Chuck Berry - keyboardist for
Aretha Franklin's early days dropped some dusty Hammond B3, Yvonne Brown just blazing with her vocal work and lots of cool
kids from Graland Country Day School "pitched" in their vocals on the "7th Inning stretch."

Little Jonathan Stackhouse and His grandfather did the voice overs and Etherean/Elation
released it. Hershey and King Soopers (div of Kroger), sponsors of the 1998 All-Star Game, supported and distributed "Born
To Go the Distance". What a fun time! You got to hear it to believe it. I might be able to locate a copy or two, soooo..
